Additionally, the facility notably received citations for violations under the Federal Nursing Home Reform Act for failing to meet minimum requirements related to ensuring the nursing home remained free from accident hazards and provided appropriate supervision, the failure to perform and document accurate nursing assessments, and the failure to provide activities of daily living care for dependent residents. Lawsuit Recently Filed Against Licensee – Operator of Sarasota Health and Rehabilitation Center
A lawsuit was filed against FI-Waldemere, LLC and the management companies for this nursing home on August 9, 2024. The lawsuit, brought by the estate of a deceased resident, alleges that the nursing home acted negligently by, among other things, failing to provide adequate and appropriate healthcare and breaching their duty to ensure there was sufficient staff to meet the needs of this resident. The plaintiff has alleged that these and other failures resulted in injury to the resident and was the cause of her wrongful death. The case is open and remains pending at this time.
