North Port Rehab, LLC, the company that is licensed to operate North Port Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, was sued in a negligence lawsuit brought by a former resident at the nursing home during 2024. This nursing home is located at 6940 Outreach Way, North Port, Florida 34287 and is a for-profit 120-bed facility.
The former resident of the nursing home has alleged in his complaint that staff at North Port Rehab were negligent and violated his resident rights by failing to provide him with physician ordered physical therapy and medication on a timely basis, and that their failures caused or contributed to his suffering a seizure and stroke at the nursing home. The complaint further alleges that his daughter and wife, who were visiting him at the nursing home at the time he suffered the seizure and stroke, immediately attempted to obtain help from the staff, but the staff failed to assist him for approximately 45 minutes. The delay in treatment is alleged to have further caused this gentleman preventable harm and injuries. The litigation and case remain open and pending at this time.
This lawsuit is the second negligence case brought against North Port Rehab, LLC in two years
As I previously reported, late last year, another lawsuit alleging negligence and resident rights violations was filed against the operator and licensee of this nursing home. In that earlier case, the nursing home staff was alleged to have negligently caused a female resident to suffer pressure ulcers, falls, UTIs, malnutrition, dehydration and a drastic deterioration in her physical condition.
