Holiday Woodlands Village is a for-profit 75-bed assisted living facility located at 1055 301 Boulevard East, Bradenton, Florida 34203. Since early 2022, it has been under the management of Atria Management Company, LLC.
A review of the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration’s website confirms AHCA has recently inspected this ALF. Since the change in ownership occurred, AHCA has cited this facility with eight Class III deficiencies. These deficiencies represent AHCA’s findings that the licensee / owner failed to comply with requirements for assisted living facilities under Florida law. The violations are related to staff training, staffing standards, resident appropriateness for continued residency, resident records and nutrition and food service training among other things. Holiday Woodlands Village Complaints Lead to Fines
Holiday Woodlands Village complaints were investigated at the facility by AHCA in September, 2022, February, 2023 and May, 2023. A review of public records maintained for this assisted living facility reveals that the ALF’s license holder / owner was ordered to pay fines on two occasions during 2023. Those fines totaled only $3,000.00 for 2023.
In order to be an effective deterrent, the Florida Legislature should consider greatly increasing the fines for assisted living operators in this state who do not comply with the law. The current fine amounts are insignificant when compared to the amount of money these corporations charge and receive from families and consumers on a month to month basis. As they stand now, Florida’ fines are an ineffective deterrent, leaving the threat of private lawsuits as the only concern that keeps these companies in check.
