Capri Health and Rehabilitation Center complaints were recently substantiated by investigators with the State of Florida during the most recent unannounced inspection of this Venice, Florida nursing home in 2024.
This nursing home is located at 1450 East Venice Avenue, Venice, FL 34292 and is licensed to provide 129 beds. The current owner / licensee is a limited liability company known as Capri Operations LLC. This LLC has run the nursing home since April of 2023.
Recently, the State of Florida conducted an unannounced inspection at Capri Health and Rehabilitation Center and cited the nursing home with multiple deficiencies based on its findings and substantiated complaints.
Capri Health Found in Non-Compliance with Federal Nursing Home Reform Act During Recent 2024 Inspection
Florida officials with the Agency for Health Care Administration investigated eight complaints at the nursing home and factually substantiated four of those complaints.
The most recent deficiencies cited against Capri Health and Rehabilitation Center pertain to the failure to maintain a safe, clean and homelike environment for residents, the failure to develop and / or implement comprehensive care plans, the failure to follow physician orders, and the failure to provide care that increases mobility and / or prevents the decrease in range of motion and mobility of residents residing within the nursing home.
Nursing Home Has History of Dozens of Complaints
Since taking over the license for the nursing home, Capri Operations LLC has been the subject of more than two dozen complaints that were investigated by state inspectors. Capri Health Lawsuit Filed in November, 2024
In addition to many documented and substantiated complaints brought against this Venice nursing home, a lawsuit was recently filed again the owner / licensee on November 6, 2024. The estate of a deceased resident sued the company operating Capri Health and Rehabilitation Center and has alleged that it was negligent and violated the resident’s rights by causing her to suffer harm, including skin breakdown, falls, infection, malnutrition and dehydration. A claim for wrongful death has also been asserted. The case remains open and pending at this time.
