Harbour Health Center complaints were investigated at this Port Charlotte nursing home during 2024 in conjunction with a standard re-licensure inspection. While the complaints themselves were unsubstantiated, Florida officials with the Agency for Health Care Administration cited the nursing home with seventeen (17) deficiencies based on non-compliance with state and federal law. Many of these deficiencies were related to resident care.

At the conclusion of this unannounced inspection, Florida officials cited this Port Charlotte nursing home with multiple deficiencies related to the quality of resident care. As the federal regulations state, “[q]uality of care is a fundamental principle that applies to all treatment and care provided to facility residents.” Investigators reviewed records, interviewed staff members and spoke to family members. Notably, at the conclusion of the inspection, Harbour Health Center was cited for failing to meet requirements relating to quality of care, the resident right to receive adequate and appropriate healthcare and the requirement to follow physician orders.
