A Maris Pointe lawsuit alleging negligence was settled months before state inspectors conducted the most recent inspection of this Venice, Florida assisted living facility.
Maris Pointe is a private 60-bed assisted living facility located at 1200 Avenida Del Circo Venice, Florida 34285. The corporate owner and license-holder is a limited liability company known as American Eagle Venice Island LLC.
The most recent investigation culminated in the citation of deficiencies by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration against the corporation that operates Maris Pointe. These documented deficiencies profiled in the 10-page inspection report relate to the failure to provide employees with the proper required training and the failure of facility supervisors to prepare and submit a proper emergency management plan. Three Class III deficiencies were cited against the ALF for these issues of non-compliance with Florida law. They follow a deficiency cited which arose from complaints about Maris Pointe and an investigation related to a missing resident.

Maris Pointe Negligence Lawsuit Settled in 2024
The lawsuit filed against the corporate ownership and management of Maris Pointe assisted living alleged separate counts in the complaint for non-lethal negligence, aiding and abetting breach of fiduciary duty, and a violation of Florida’s elder protection statute. The lawsuit further alleged that the ALF’s acts and omissions injured and caused harm to an elderly resident. After months of litigation between the parties, the case was settled in 2024 on behalf of the elderly female former resident.
