A Venice Health lawsuit alleging negligence was filed against the nursing home rehab center by the personal representative of a deceased former resident’s estate. Venice Health and Rehabilitation Center’s operating company, Venice FL Opco, LLC, was the party named as a defendant and sued in the complaint. Venice Health and Rehabilitation Center is a 120-bed for-profit nursing home located at 1240 Pinebrook Road, Venice, Florida 34285.
During the most recent inspection conducted by officials with the State of Florida, this Venice nursing home was cited with a total of eight (8) deficiencies for the failure to comply with state and federal law. The violations included a citation relating to the failure to provide adequate and appropriate healthcare. Venice Health Lawsuit Seeks Damages for Wrongful Death
The lawsuit alleges that Venice Health and Rehabilitation Center’s staff “failed to develop an adequate care plan and properly monitor and supervise the care and treatment provided to a female resident.
The plaintiff further contends in the complaint that the nursing home’s negligence caused her to suffer “infections and sepsis…falls and unexplained injuries…and malnutrition and weight loss.“
The lawsuit seeks damages for pain and suffering, loss of dignity and other economic and non-economic losses and also seeks the recovery of damages for wrongful death. This Venice Health and Rehab lawsuit was filed with the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Court in and for Sarasota County and remains open and pending at this time.
