The Meadows Center Lawsuits Allege the Nursing Home Corporation Acted Negligently and Harmed Residents
Two nursing home negligence lawsuits have been filed and brought against the corporate operator and license-holder for this Sarasota nursing home since a change of management occurred several years ago.
The first lawsuit filed against The Meadows Center for Nursing and Healing remains open. In that case, it is alleged that “Defendant’s staff failed to properly supervise and assist dementia patients, causing a confrontation between two residents that resulted” in a female resident suffering a fractured wrist. This case is currently pending in the Twelfth Judicial Circuit in and for Sarasota County.
In the second lawsuit filed against the corporation that operates this Sarasota nursing home, the complaint alleged that a female resident required supervision and assistance with her activities of daily living from staff in order to “remain safe and free from harm, abuse, and preventable injury.” The staff, however, was alleged to have negligently failed to provide reasonable supervision, care and assistance to her that caused “falls resulting in fractures, dehydration, and depression.” This lawsuit was settled by the parties several months ago.
