Sarasota Center lawsuits which name its operating company, Sarasota Opco, LLC, have been filed alleging negligence against this nursing home fictitiously named “Sarasota Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.” This facility is a for-profit 81-bed nursing home located at 4783 Fruitville Road, Sarasota, Florida 34232. Last year, this Sarasota nursing home was inspected by investigators with the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration and cited with a total of fourteen (14) deficiencies for failing to comply with state and federal law. These violations included failures relating to each resident’s right to receive adequate and appropriate healthcare, the proper storage and labeling of drugs and biologicals, and the failure to adhere to standards of quality of care. Sarasota Center Lawsuits Allege Negligence Against Nursing Home
Of the three Sarasota Center lawsuits on record with the Clerk of Court for Sarasota County, Florida, two of those lawsuits were filed seeking damages for negligence against the nursing home.
In the first negligence lawsuit filed against Sarasota Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, it was alleged that a visitor was helping a friend who was a resident at the nursing home when a dresser that was not properly secured to the wall tipped over and fell on her, resulting in her suffering serious and permanent injuries.
In the second Sarasota Center for Nursing and Rehab lawsuit, the nursing home was alleged that the nursing home and its staff violated the rights of a resident and was negligent in caring for him, and as a result, he suffered unstageable bed sores to his heels, severe sepsis, and ultimately death. Wrongful death damages were sought in the complaint.
