Three Capri Health lawsuits have been brought against the operating company of this Venice nursing home alleging negligence just in 2025. Capri Health and Rehabilitation Center is a 129-bed nursing home located at 1450 East Venice Avenue, Venice, Florida 34292. As of December 2025, each case remains open and pending in the Sarasota County Circuit Courts along with a fourth case filed the previous year.
As of December, 2025, Capri Health and Rehabilitation Center also remains on the Florida “Nursing Home Watch List.” This nursing home was most recently cited during a complaint investigation with two deficiencies, including a federal violation related to the failure to develop and implement policies to prevent the abuse and neglect of residents. A deficiency represents a failure to comply with state and / or federal law applicable to nursing homes. The prior year, multiple Capri Health complaints were investigated by Florida officials and the nursing home received a total of nineteen (19) deficiencies in violation of state and federal laws. As of December, 2025, Capri Health and Rehabilitation Center was given only one star out of five by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services based on its inspections, representing the lowest possible rating for a nursing home:

Four Capri Health Lawsuits Allege Negligence and Seek Damages in 2025
The first lawsuit filed against Capri Health and Rehabilitation Center alleges that staff employed at this Venice nursing home were negligent by failing to provide proper care to a female resident. The complaint further alleges that, as a result of the nursing home’s negligent care, she “suffered preventable injury, including but not limited to hip fracture, urinary tract infection, and sepsis.”
The lawsuit asserts claims for and seeks damages for pain and suffering and wrongful death. This nursing home negligence lawsuit was filed with the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Court in and for Sarasota County, Florida and remains open and pending at this time.
Additionally, three new lawsuits were commenced against the nursing home and its corporate operators recently in 2025. Those cases also remain open and active at this time.
