The federal government maintains a website to assist consumers in choosing a nursing home. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services collects data and evaluates nursing homes that receive Medicare and Medicaid funds. This website contains a lot of valuable information and is worth visiting in the event you are searching for a nursing home. However, it is important to know that just because a nursing home received a four or five star rating, that does not guarantee that it will provide good and safe future care. Therefore, the information located on the website (located here: http://tinyurl.com/32283e43) should be but one factor a family considers when seeking out a suitable place to obtain short term rehab or long term nursing home care.
