Legal Action Results in Imposition of Fine During 2023
The State of Florida commenced legal action against the Inn at Freedom Village based following its observance of failures to comply with Florida law. A review of public records maintained by AHCA reflects that the Agency imposed a fine against the license-holder / owner on March 21, 2023. The amount of the fine was small; only $500.00. Fines are imposed as a sanction against assisted living facilities. Their purpose is to deter corporations from committing additional violations in the future. One can only wonder, however, what the deterrent effect is from such a small fine when these companies charge thousands of dollars per resident per month.
