Over the years, this nursing home has been the subject of multiple complaints made to the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration. Since 2019, this nursing home has been cited with a total of 38 deficiencies. A deficiency is a finding by inspectors that a nursing home has failed to comply with requirements set forth under state or federal law. In addition to these deficiencies, the company that holds the license to operate this nursing home has been sued multiple times over the years.
Casa Mora Rehabilitation and Extended Care Complaints
Casa Mora Rehabilitation and Extended Care was most recently investigated following complaints filed with the State of Florida in July, 2023. Florida officials substantiated the complaints received at that time. The facility was cited for failing to comply with the law that requires every Florida nursing home to provide and maintain a safe, clean and homelike environment for residents.
Following receipt of Casa Mora Rehabilitation complaints, investigators toured the building and documented their findings. Casa Mora Rehabilitation Lawsuits
As mentioned above, this Bradenton nursing home has also been sued multiple times over the years. The most recent lawsuit alleged that the facility was negligent in caring for a resident and violated the resident’s rights under Florida law.
Another plaintiff alleged that the nursing home failed to protect an elderly resident and allowed her to suffer injuries, including “contusions to the head and left wrist, a nasal bone fracture, and hematoma to the head, skin excoriation to the left buttocks; severe weight loss; and numerous infections including MRSA, an upper respiratory infection, and a urine culture positive for E.coli.”
