Capri Health and Rehabilitation Center is a 129-bed nursing home located at 1450 East Venice Avenue, Venice FL 34292. This nursing home was previously operated as a ProMedica facility and prior to that it was owned by Manorcare. The current owner and licensee is Capri Operations, LLC. This limited liability company took over operations on April 1, 2023 according to public records on file with the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). On April 7, 2023, AHCA completed a complaint investigation and cited the nursing home with five deficiencies. A review of public records for the most recent Capri Health and Rehabilitation Center complaint reported to AHCA was investigated in September, 2023. The investigation found that the complaint was substantiated. However, AHCA chose not to issue a citation for a deficiency at that time. The complaints that culminated in a finding of deficiencies during April, 2023 for the nursing home pertained to the right to be free from abuse and neglect, the requirement to report alleged violations, the right to be free from accident hazards, nutrition and hydration, and the right to receive adequate and appropriate healthcare.

As of January, 2024, Capri Health and Rehabilitation Center has an overall rating of one star out of five stars according to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Medicare compares and rates all nursing homes that participate in its federal reimbursement program. Data is gathered and compiled on topics that include a nursing home’s staffing levels, health inspections, and quality measures. The quality measures include such things as: how many residents develop bed sores? How many residents suffer infections? How many residents must be returned to the hospital?
