Complaints were substantiated at this nursing home in 2024. State inspectors with the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration also found multiple violations in connection with their re-licensure survey which was conducted in conjunction with the complaint investigation. At the conclusion of investigation, the Agency cited Sun Harbor Healthcare with a total of eleven (11) deficiencies. Many of these deficiencies related to resident care.

Of note, this Port Charlotte nursing home was cited for failing to follow physician orders, failing to adhere to each resident’s right to adequate and appropriate health care, and failing to ensure that residents and their representatives can file grievances without reprisal.
Additionally, Sun Harbor Healthcare was deemed to be in non-compliance with the federal regulation that requires nursing homes to provide dependent residents with assistance with their activities of daily living.
