A Sarasota Point Rehabilitation lawsuit seeks damages for the alleged wrongful death of a resident. Sarasota Point Rehabilitation Center is a for-profit 120-bed nursing home located at 2600 Courtland Street, Sarasota, Florida 34237. At this time, the facility remains on the Florida “Nursing Home Watch List.”
Last year, the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration inspected this Sarasota nursing home and cited its operator with a total of fifteen (15) deficiencies. Sarasota Point Rehabilitation Lawsuit and Complaint Brought By State of Florida and Estate of Deceased Former Resident
Sarasota Point Rehabilitation Center lawsuits have not been limited to those brought by former residents or their families. The State of Florida Agency for Health Care Administration brought an administrative lawsuit against this Sarasota nursing home’s corporate operator and entered a final order in which a five thousand dollar fine was imposed.
More recently, the estate of a deceased former resident filed a lawsuit against the limited liability company that holds the license to operate Sarasota Point Rehabilitation Center. This lawsuit alleges that the nursing home failed to provide appropriate care, supervision and treatment to a female resident. As a result, the complaint alleges that she was permitted to suffer falls with injury as well as other unexplained injuries to her person. Furthermore, the lawsuit blames Sarasota Point Rehabilitation Center for this resident’s death and seeks damages for wrongful death under Florida law. This case was filed in the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Court in and for Sarasota County and remains open and pending at this time.
