On April 8, 2016, an unannounced complaint investigation was performed by the State of Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration at Bradenton Health Care, a 105 bed nursing home located at 6305 Cortez Road West, Bradenton, Florida 34210. Bradenton Health Care is part of a chain of nursing homes owned by Consulate Healthcare based in Maitland, Florida.
Violations of law were found at Bradenton Health Care according to Florida investigators
At the conclusion of the investigation, the Agency cited Bradenton Health Care in violation of the federal Nursing Home Reform Act of 1987. The deficiencies cited against this nursing home included:
Failing to provide a resident with the necessary care and services to attain or maintain their highest practicable physical, mental and psychosocial well-being, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment and plan of care. (F-Tag 309).
Failing to recognize, evaluate and address the needs of a resident who was at risk for or was already experiencing impaired nutrition. (F-Tag 325).
Additionally, state investigators cited Bradenton Health Care under state law for failing to provide adequate and appropriate healthcare to a resident in its nursing home.
I handle and file cases of nursing home abuse and neglect against nursing homes in Bradenton and Manatee County, Florida and surrounding communities. Our purpose is two-fold: we want to find answers through our investigation and expose the truth. Secondly, we want to hold the nursing home operators accountable and force a positive change to protect our elders moving forward into the future.
